Awani Downtown Dubai branch speciality is the spectacular view. I use to visit Awanis JBR branch on a regular basis, however, now I switched to the one in Dubai Mall. Main reason that it is more in the center and second is the location.
Awani being a levantine cuisine, it serves delicious authentic levantine food. Here are some of the dishes I tried during the opening of their new branch.
The Eggplant and beef Fatteh is very heavy, but really good. If you are looking for something lighter, I would recommend trying the beetroot mutabal.
Similarly goes for the Freekeh Bel Fukharra. It is a mix of wheat, heavy cream and parmessan cheese. The cream and cheese is what makes it heavy but indulging.
The charcoal grilled chicken is marinated perfectly. This dish was recommended by a staff member and I quite enjoyed it.
The chicken Shawarma is very basic. The presentation is great, however, the taste is alright. Shawarma is considered as street food, so it is best served by cheaper cafeterias. I prefer AED 5 Shawarmas.
Overall, Awani is a great restaurant to enjoy your meal, complimented by the great views of Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountains.
